In a significant step towards strengthening international tourism partnerships, SKÅL International India and the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Mumbai have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism, encourage cultural exchange and foster bilateral cooperation between India and Belarus. The MoU was signed during the 40th anniversary celebrations of SKÅL International Hyderabad, according to a press note issued by the chapter. The occasion marked an important milestone in expanding international engagement and creating new avenues for collaboration between the tourism industries of the two countries.
The signing took place in the presence of NSN Mohan, President-designate of SKÅL International for 2027, who is set to assume office as the organisation’s Global President in 2027. He will become the first Indian and the first Asian to hold this prestigious position in the 93-year history of SKÅL International, marking a significant achievement for India’s tourism fraternity. Conceptualised by SKÅL International Hyderabad, the initiative seeks to build stronger connections between India and Belarus by positioning tourism as a platform for international friendship, cultural understanding and business collaboration. Through the partnership, both sides aim to explore opportunities to encourage travel between the two countries, promote their respective tourism offerings and create greater awareness of their destinations.
The agreement also places emphasis on facilitating cultural interactions and initiatives that strengthen people-to-people connections and foster mutual understanding. Additionally, it seeks to encourage collaboration among tourism stakeholders, institutions and businesses in both countries, opening up opportunities for meaningful partnerships and knowledge exchange. The MoU was signed and exchanged by Aliaksandr Motsukou, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Mumbai, and S. Venkat Reddy, President of SKÅL International India.
By leveraging its global network and industry connections, SKÅL International aims to make tourism an effective bridge between nations, fostering stronger bilateral ties while creating new opportunities for cultural exchange and business growth between India and Belarus.
