Air India has launched its ‘Easy Connect’ services from Ahmedabad, marking a significant step in the Government of India’s hub-and-spoke aviation initiative and strengthening international connectivity for travellers from Gujarat. With Ahmedabad joining Amritsar and Varanasi in the expanding Easy Connect network, passengers can access Air India’s global network through Delhi with a seamless transit experience. The initiative also aims to strengthen India’s position as a global aviation hub. Under the programme, international travellers departing from Ahmedabad can complete through check-in to their final destination and clear immigration formalities at Ahmedabad Airport. They can then connect through Delhi without re-checking baggage or changing terminals, allowing them to travel as international transit passengers and avoid repeated procedures.
Air India has designated two daily Ahmedabad–Delhi services as Easy Connect flights: AI1117, departing Ahmedabad at 8:25 am and arriving in Delhi at 10:15 am from 2 September, and AI1121, departing at 8:15 pm and arriving at 10 pm from 1 September. Together, these flights provide onward connectivity to 26 international destinations within four hours of arrival in Delhi, covering the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Gulf. Destinations accessible through the services include Shanghai, Dubai, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Kuala Lumpur, Riyadh, Rome, Zurich, Singapore, Seoul, Bangkok, Toronto and Sydney. Inbound Easy Connect services to Ahmedabad are also expected to commence shortly.
Commenting on the launch, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, said, “Expanding hub-and-spoke operations to Ahmedabad would support trade, tourism and mobility while helping build a more connected and globally competitive aviation ecosystem.”

Air India is rolling out Easy Connect services nationwide, progressively linking more domestic cities with its hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
