A delegation from the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), led by President Surendra Singh Shahpura, met His Highness Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh to invite him to the upcoming Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) and the inaugural Marwar Travel Mart (MTM). The fifth edition of RDTM is scheduled to take place in Jaipur from September 17 to 19, 2026, followed by the first-ever Marwar Travel Mart in Jodhpur from September 20 to 22, 2026. The two travel marts aim to strengthen domestic tourism, facilitate business networking and showcase Rajasthan’s diverse tourism offerings to travel trade stakeholders from across India.
The FHTR delegation comprised President Surendra Singh Shahpura; Senior Vice President Rajendra S. Pachar; Secretary General Tarun Bansal; Treasurer Rajendra Singh Jodha; Founder Member Khalid Khan; Executive Member Shailendra Singh; and Marketing Consultant Gagan Katyal. During the meeting, the delegation briefed Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh on the initiatives planned for both travel marts, with a particular focus on responsible and sustainable tourism projects. The delegation also shared details of the inaugural night polo match being organised at the Rajasthan Polo Club as part of the RDTM programme.
Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh expressed his pleasure at the initiative and welcomed the participation of tour operators, travel agents and other tourism stakeholders at the match. He also expressed his willingness to participate in the match himself, adding a special dimension to the event. RDTM is expected to bring together approximately 300 travel agents from across India, alongside more than 700 properties and tour companies from Rajasthan. The event is designed to provide a platform for the state’s hospitality and tourism fraternity to connect with the domestic travel trade and explore new business opportunities.
The inaugural MTM in Jodhpur will further expand this engagement, with an expected participation of around 125 travel agents from across India and approximately 300 properties. The travel mart will highlight the tourism potential of the Marwar region and provide an opportunity for buyers and suppliers to develop new partnerships. Both RDTM and MTM are being organised by FHTR with the support of the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, along with key stakeholder associations, including the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA), Hotel and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR) and Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO).
Through these initiatives, FHTR aims to further strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a leading domestic tourism destination while creating meaningful business opportunities for the state’s travel, hospitality and tourism stakeholders.
