India Association Congress 2026 to Convene in Kolkata as India’s Association Sector Enters a New Era of Transformation

India’s business landscape continues to evolve through rapid advances in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability, regulatory reforms and changing workforce expectations; the country’s association sector stands at a defining crossroads. Against this backdrop, the 13th India Association Congress (IAC 2026) will be held on August 7-8, 2026, at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata, bringing together association leaders, policymakers, industry experts, convention bureaus and institutional stakeholders from India and abroad.

Held under the theme, “Reset. Rethink. Reinvent. – Transforming Associations in India: Navigating Change for Sustainable Impact,” this year’s congress will examine how associations can reinvent themselves as strategic drivers of industry advancement, policy advocacy, innovation, knowledge exchange and collaborative growth. Discussions will focus on emerging regulatory frameworks, digital transformation, AI-driven member engagement, governance, funding models, institutional resilience and strategies for remaining relevant in an increasingly competitive environment.

The congress is expected to welcome over 300 senior delegates representing associations, corporates, government bodies, convention bureaus and industry partners from sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, technology, education, finance, sustainability, research, urban mobility, semiconductors, blockchain and community development. The programme will feature keynote addresses, leadership dialogues, executive conversations, case studies, workshops and curated networking sessions designed specifically for association leaders.

Confirmed speakers include Sanjeev Sanyal, Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India; Mugdha Sinha, Managing Director, Indian Tourism Development Corporation; Kamlesh D. Shroff, President, Association of NSE Members of India; and Dr. Shilpa Varma, Director, India Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Additional speakers will be announced in the lead-up to the congress.

Organised in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), one of India’s oldest industry bodies, the congress reinforces Kolkata’s historic role as a centre for commerce, intellectual leadership and institutional excellence. The event will also host the Association Excellence Awards, recognising innovation, leadership and impact across India’s association ecosystem. At the same time, delegates will have the opportunity to experience Kolkata’s cultural heritage through a guided visit to Kumartuli, the city’s renowned artisan district.
