Bengaluru today represents a seamless blend of business, technology, and lifestyle, and the expectations of the modern traveller have evolved accordingly. At Shangri-La Bengaluru, luxury is being redefined through personalisation, flexibility, and meaningful experiences. To give an idea, keeping the summer vacation in mind, we have specially decorated a few rooms with a children’s summer theme. Our health club has arranged swimming classes for kids, and our Sunday brunches host a dedicated corner for the little ones. In Bengaluru, we bring this to life by blending our Asian heritage with the city’s cosmopolitan spirit. This is reflected in how we personalise guest experiences, celebrate local culture, and create a sense of belonging. The goal is to ensure that every guest feels not just welcomed, but truly cared for—much like being in a familiar environment, even when they are away from home.

In what ways do your dining and bar experiences engage both in-house guests and the city’s discerning local audience?

We ensure that our outlets resonate equally with global travellers and Bengaluru’s discerning local audience. Our all-day dining and lobby lounge offer ‘filter kaapi’, which is the essence of Bengaluru. From authentic Mandarin and Japanese to Italian and traditional Indian cuisine, Shangri-La Bengaluru offers a wide range of culinary experiences for both in-house and non-resident guests.

With sustainability increasingly influencing travel decisions, what key initiatives has the hotel introduced to drive meaningful impact?

Sustainability is an integral part of Shangri-La’s global vision to operate responsibly while creating long-term value for communities and the environment. At Shangri-La Bengaluru, we are focused on embedding sustainability into our daily operations. Our ‘Rooted in Nature’ initiative guides us in responsible local sourcing and waste reduction. From in-house glass bottle production to the use of electric vehicles and community engagement, Shangri-La truly believes in giving back to society. Importantly, we believe that luxury and sustainability can coexist, and our approach is to integrate these practices seamlessly into the guest experience rather than treating them as standalone initiatives.
