Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park, located within the bustling Manyata Tech Park, represent the epitome of modern hospitality in the heart of India’s Silicon Valley. Designed to cater to business and leisure travellers alike, the dual-property complex features world-class accommodations, exceptional dining, and one of Bengaluru’s largest MICE facilities. With its seamless blend of luxury, technology, and sustainability, the property stands as a key hub for global conferences and corporate events.

Voyager’s World speaks to Mr. Sujeet Kumar, Cluster General Manager, in an exclusive interview about innovation, growth, and the evolving hospitality landscape.

Can you share your thoughts about your expansive venue contributing to strengthening Bengaluru’s rapidly growing MICE ecosystem?

Bengaluru has firmly established itself as one of Asia’s most dynamic MICE destinations, driven by its thriving corporate ecosystem and global connectivity. In fact, 15% of India’s MICE events are hosted in Bangalore, according to Karnataka’s Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah.

At Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park, our expansive 60,000 sq. ft. of event space—among the largest in the city—serves as a key enabler in this growth story. Strategically located within a major business hub and just 40 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport, the venue eliminates the city’s usual logistical challenges, making large-scale conferences and exhibitions seamless. Beyond size and scale, what truly differentiates us is our focus on sustainability, technology integration, and personalised service. From carbon-neutral meetings and digital event planning tools to rewarding partnerships through Hilton Honors, we aim to redefine how MICE experiences are designed and delivered in Bengaluru’s evolving business landscape.

How do you see emerging technologies shaping the future of guest experience in the hospitality industry?

Emerging technologies are revolutionising the hospitality industry by elevating the guest experience at every stage. AI and advanced data analytics enable hyper-personalisation, allowing hotels to anticipate guest preferences—from room settings to dining and activity choices—ensuring a uniquely tailored stay.

Digital innovations, including mobile apps, digital keys, and AI-powered chatbots, streamline interactions, minimise wait times, and provide round-the-clock support. Immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality offer engaging experiences, from virtual property tours to interactive on-site activities. Smart rooms, powered by IoT devices, let guests control lighting, temperature, and entertainment, while predictive maintenance ensures uninterrupted comfort. Additionally, technology supports sustainability through energy-efficient systems and paperless operations, making stays both seamless and environmentally responsible.

How important do you think upskilling and reskilling are for meeting the demands of today’s modern hospitality workforce?

In today’s hospitality landscape, relying on “yesteryear” approaches no longer works. The focus is shifting from traditional service roles to developing employees as business-minded professionals who understand both guest experience and business impact. Lateral movements and cross-training across departments provide critical exposure to the broader dynamics of hotel operations—helping team members think strategically, not just functionally. Supported by a culture built on “Great Place to Work” principles, continuous upskilling and reskilling empower our people to adapt, innovate, and drive performance. This commitment to growth not only enhances guest satisfaction but also ensures organisational agility in an ever-evolving industry.

In what ways do forecasting and budgeting contribute to effective revenue and resource management in hospitality?

In any business enterprise, including REIT-owned hotels, forecasting and budgeting play a critical role in shaping future projections and guiding strategic decisions. By analysing current market trends, historical performance, and anticipated demand, management can forecast revenue, occupancy, and other key metrics, which in turn inform resource allocation, staffing, and operational planning. Budgeting translates these forecasts into actionable financial plans, ensuring that investments—whether in property upgrades, marketing, or technology—are efficiently deployed to maximise returns.

In the case of hotels, careful forecasting and budgeting help align capital expenditures and operational costs with expected cash flows, allowing stakeholders to make informed decisions about asset management, workout plans, and long-term growth strategies. Ultimately, accurate forecasting today sets the foundation for sustainable performance and profitability in the future.

Where do you see sustainable hospitality evolving in the travel industry in the coming years?

Hilton has been a pioneer in sustainable hospitality through its Travel with Purpose initiative, aiming to halve its environmental footprint and double its social impact by 2030. A key element of this strategy is the Carbon Neutral Meetings program, which allows event planners to host meetings and events with minimal environmental impact at no additional cost. Using Hilton’s LightStay platform, each event’s energy, water, and waste consumption is assessed, and carbon credits are purchased to offset the estimated emissions. These credits support global sustainability projects, including wind and geothermal energy and clean water initiatives.

Complementing this, Hilton provides planners with a Meet with Purpose Checklist to encourage sustainable sourcing, waste reduction, and community engagement. With a global reach, this program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and demonstrates Hilton’s commitment to integrating sustainability into core operations, offering clients the opportunity to make a meaningful environmental impact while hosting events.
