ATOAI Unveils ‘India 365: Boundless Adventures’ to Promote All-Season Adventure Tourism

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, has announced its 18th Annual Adventure Convention, scheduled to take place at Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand, from 13 to 16 December 2026. The convention, themed “India 365: Boundless Adventures” with the tagline “Stronger Destinations | Infinite Seasons | Endless Growth”, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, global experts, and grassroots operators to explore strategies for strengthening India’s adventure tourism sector. The event will focus on transitioning from seasonal tourism peaks to sustainable, year-round adventure tourism destinations.

As India works towards establishing itself among the world’s top ten adventure tourism destinations, the convention will examine ways to unlock the year-round potential of the country’s diverse landscapes, including mountains, rivers, deserts, coastlines and forests. The discussions will emphasise sustainable operations, stronger destination infrastructure and improved economic opportunities for local communities and adventure tour operators.

Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand, said, “Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board is proud to be among the sponsors of the ATOAI Annual Convention in Ramnagar. Uttarakhand has always been a natural home for adventure, and gatherings like this bring together the people who shape adventure travel in India. We warmly welcome all delegates to experience the hospitality and spirit of the Himalaya.”

Tejbir Singh Anand, President, ATOAI, said, “With our theme for the 18th Annual Convention, we are driving a paradigm shift—moving from periodic tourist surges to building resilient, high-standard, year-round adventure ecosystems. Hosting this milestone convention in Kausani, in partnership with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, underscores our collective dedication to decentralising tourism, empowering grassroots mountain communities, and expanding off-season travel corridors. ATOAI remains steadfast in upholding uncompromising safety standards, environmental stewardship through our Net-Zero and Leave No Trace commitments, and fostering sustainable economic viability for operators across all terrains and all seasons. Together, we are paving the path to establish India among the top ten adventure destinations in the world.”

The multi-day convention will feature plenary sessions and panel discussions addressing seasonality, the development of monsoon and winter travel corridors, and the creation of resilient destination infrastructure. Safety and standards workshops will offer practical learning opportunities on safety protocols, risk management and environmentally sensitive operations in line with national adventure tourism guidelines. The programme will also facilitate business-to-business networking between regional adventure operators and national and international travel companies, helping connect grassroots enterprises with wider business opportunities. A dedicated exhibition will showcase adventure tourism products, experiences and offerings from across India, providing exhibitors with a platform to strengthen industry visibility, build partnerships and generate business leads.

Sustainability will remain a central focus of the convention, with measures aimed at minimising its carbon footprint. Plastic-free protocols and adherence to Leave No Trace principles will guide sessions and activities, reinforcing the association’s emphasis on responsible adventure tourism. The convention will be led by Yog Chinmoy Dutt, Treasurer, ATOAI, and Chapter Chair for the West-Central Region, as Convention Chairman. Mohit Gupta, Senior Member of ATOAI, and Arvind Bharadwaj, Executive Committee Member, ATOAI, will serve as Convention Co-Chairs.
