Tourism Bhutan Appoints BlinkBrand Solutions as Official Representation Partner for India and MENA

The Department of Tourism, Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Employment, Kingdom of Bhutan, has appointed BlinkBrand Solutions as its official Public Relations and Sales Representative for India and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets. The strategic partnership marks a new phase in Bhutan’s tourism development, with a renewed focus on strengthening key source markets and engaging high-value traveller segments in line with the Kingdom’s broader tourism vision. India remains Bhutan’s largest and most strategically important tourism market, while the MENA region represents a growing high-yield opportunity. The appointment brings together Bhutan’s distinctive High-Value, Low-Volume tourism philosophy with BlinkBrand Solutions’ expertise in destination marketing, public relations, sales and trade engagement.

The partnership is aligned with the Bhutan Integrated Tourism Master Plan 2025–2034, which provides a long-term framework for positioning tourism as a sustainable engine of national development. The plan places emphasis on diversification, regional balance, sustainability and regenerative tourism, while seeking to ensure that tourism growth creates lasting value for local communities, culture, the economy and the environment. At the heart of Bhutan’s tourism approach is the philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH) and the commitment to preserving the integrity of its High-Value, Low-Volume model. Rather than focusing solely on visitor numbers, Bhutan aims to attract discerning travellers seeking longer, meaningful stays, encourage tourism dispersal across regions and seasons, and ensure that tourism contributes positively to host communities and destinations.

Commenting on the appointment, Damcho Rinzin, Director, Department of Tourism, Bhutan, said, “The partnership represents more than a conventional destination marketing mandate. He highlighted the importance of moving beyond traditional Bhutan itineraries and showcasing the Kingdom’s diverse experiences, including wellness and spirituality, culture, nature and adventure, family travel, luxury, MICE and destination weddings, along with immersive experiential journeys and slow travel. India holds a unique position within Bhutan’s tourism ecosystem, supported by strong historical, cultural, spiritual and people-to-people ties. Direct flight connections and land border crossings also make Bhutan an accessible international destination for Indian travellers. Indian nationals do not require a visa to visit Bhutan but are required to obtain an entry permit.”

Anisha Prakash, Head of Marketing and Strategic Alliances, BlinkBrand Solutions, said, “The company is delighted to partner with the Department of Tourism, Bhutan, to support the continued growth of the country’s tourism sector. The partnership will focus on connecting Bhutan’s evolving tourism story with the right audiences across India and MENA while engaging travel trade, media and high-value traveller segments.”

Under the mandate, BlinkBrand will leverage its capabilities across destination marketing, public relations, media relations, travel trade engagement, consumer campaigns, storytelling, influencer marketing and experiential activations to strengthen Bhutan’s positioning across the two markets.
