The Travel Agents Association Pune (TAAP) conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 at Marigold, Bavdhan, Pune, bringing together TAAP members, Patron Members, past presidents, industry partners and well-wishers. Led by President Nilesh Bhansali, the AGM highlighted the association’s achievements while outlining an ambitious roadmap focused on building a stronger, more united and future-ready travel trade community.
The AGM placed strong emphasis on TAAP’s priorities for the coming years, centred around technology & AI, professionalism, member protection, business networking and member welfare. As part of its technology-driven vision, TAAP plans to develop a digital ecosystem integrating AI, digital marketing, content creation and lead-generation opportunities to help members enhance their businesses and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. The association also outlined initiatives aimed at strengthening professional standards across the travel trade. These include providing verified DMC information, introducing standardised contracts and developing certification initiatives to promote greater transparency, credibility and professionalism within the sector.
Member protection and industry representation will remain key areas of focus. TAAP plans to strengthen its advocacy on issues concerning airlines, airfares, tourism policies and challenges faced by travel agents, ensuring that the collective voice of its members is effectively represented before relevant stakeholders. Creating stronger business opportunities for members will also be central to TAAP’s roadmap. The association intends to facilitate greater engagement with tourism boards, DMCs, hotels and other industry partners, enabling members to connect, collaborate and generate new business opportunities.
A special initiative announced during the AGM was to provide TAAP Patron Members with networking opportunities at no additional cost. The initiative aims to encourage collaboration, referrals and business development among members and industry stakeholders.
The AGM also featured valuable presentations and support from industry partners including Bania Travel Nepal, Team Travel Bhutan, Ruvishka from Sri Lanka, Nature’s Sprout represented by Megha Karla, Continental Travel Consortium represented by Gauri Yadwad, and OA Globe DMC represented by Girish Vidhwans.
The TAAP leadership committee comprises President Nilesh Bhansali, Vice President Amit Pandit, Secretary Aniket Kelkar, Treasurer Mohan Shedge, Payal Joshi and Vivek Gole, with Navin Mahajan, Payal Joshi, Krishna Gaikwad and Vishwanath Kakade serving as Trustees. The AGM was also attended by past presidents Dr. Vishwas Kekar and Deepak Pujari, along with senior member Jagannath Pandit, members, Patron Members and industry stakeholders.
Under the leadership of Nilesh Bhansali, TAAP aims to evolve into a stronger, professional, technology-driven and business-oriented ecosystem, empowering its members to learn, connect, collaborate, grow, protect and lead in the changing travel industry.
