Türkiye Elevates International Business Events with Strategic MICE Growth

Türkiye continues to reinforce its position as one of the world’s most dynamic and versatile destinations for MICE, offering a compelling blend of strategic location, world-class infrastructure, premium hospitality and enriching leisure experiences.

Building on a successful 2025, during which the country hosted prestigious international gatherings such as the 14th Annual Advisory Forum of the Council of Europe Cultural Routes, the PATA Annual Summit and the Trip.com Global Summit, Türkiye is preparing for another landmark year in 2026 with a strong calendar of high-profile global events.

At the forefront of the 2026 agenda are two globally significant summits: the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), scheduled to take place in Antalya from November 9–20, and the NATO Summit, to be held in Ankara on July 7–8. These events will bring together world leaders, policymakers and industry experts, further demonstrating Türkiye’s ability to successfully host large-scale international meetings while showcasing its advanced infrastructure and organisational expertise.

Türkiye’s growing reputation in the global MICE sector is further supported by its active participation in leading industry platforms, including IMEX Frankfurt, IMEX Las Vegas and IBTM Barcelona. The country also continues to strengthen its collaborations with key industry bodies such as the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO), helping to attract major international congresses and business events.

At the heart of Türkiye’s MICE success is Istanbul, a city where business, innovation and culture converge. With two international airports and extensive global air connectivity, Istanbul offers exceptional accessibility for international delegates. The city combines modern convention facilities with iconic heritage attractions, world-class gastronomy, luxury shopping and unique incentive experiences. According to ICCA data, Istanbul recorded a 10 percent increase in international congresses in 2025, while Türkiye as a whole saw a 16 percent rise compared to the previous year. In 2026, the city is set to host two major international medical congresses expected to attract approximately 13,500 participants.

Meanwhile, Antalya continues to excel as one of the Mediterranean’s leading MICE destinations. With over 300 five-star hotels, more than 175,000 convention seats and nearly 300 days of sunshine annually, the city offers an ideal environment for conferences, incentives and bleisure travel.

Beyond Istanbul and Antalya, destinations such as Bodrum, Izmir and Cappadocia further enrich Türkiye’s MICE landscape, offering luxury incentive experiences, modern business facilities and unforgettable cultural settings that continue to attract international event planners and corporate travellers alike.
