Princess Cruises Charts the Future with Next-Gen Voyager Class Fleet Expansion

Princess Cruises has announced a major fleet expansion, signing agreements with renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct three next-generation cruise ships. Scheduled for delivery in late 2035, 2038 and 2039, the new Voyager Class vessels will represent the largest ships ever built for the brand and mark a significant step forward in the evolution of the Princess guest experience. The new ships will be built at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone and will each measure approximately 183,000 gross tons, accommodating around 4,700 guests.

The Voyager Class ships will seamlessly blend the most-loved and highest-rated experiences Princess is known for with completely reimagined outer decks, staterooms, and Piazza designs. The new platform will build on the award-winning Sphere Class foundation while introducing enhanced guest-facing innovations and advanced marine technologies. Similar to the highly successful Sun Princess and Star Princess, the Voyager Class vessels will be dual-fuel powered, operating primarily on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). This cleaner fuel significantly reduces air emissions compared to conventional marine fuels, reinforcing Princess Cruises’ commitment to more sustainable operations.

From elevated entertainment and immersive dining to inviting pool environments and beautifully redesigned public spaces, every aspect of the ships has been thoughtfully re-envisioned to enhance the overall guest experience. The new builds are designed to delight loyal Princess guests while attracting a new generation of cruisers, with particular emphasis on multi-generational travel and global deployments.

Commenting on the announcement, Nishith Saxena, Founder & Director, Princess Cruises, said, “The new Voyager Class ship order reflects the serious commitment Princess has towards consistency of upgraded guest experience and an evolved strategy to attract all age groups, with special emphasis on multigenerational families and cruisers seeking an exceptional experience on Princess ships. We look forward to continued innovations and fleet expansion in the coming years. Such developments encourage our India trade distribution to remain engaged and focused on promoting Princess to their clients.”

Detailed design specifications and features of the Voyager Class ships will be revealed in the coming years. With this landmark order, Princess Cruises continues to invest in the future of cruising, reaffirming its position as a global leader committed to innovation, sustainability and exceptional guest experiences.
