IATO Conducts First-Ever ‘Namaste India Showcase’ European Roadshow

Marking a significant milestone in its global outreach efforts, the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) concluded its inaugural international roadshow, the Namaste India Showcase, held from 6–11 March 2026 across Frankfurt, Paris, and Amsterdam. This first-of-its-kind multi-city European initiative was designed to directly engage with key global travel markets and strengthen India’s tourism presence overseas. Organised with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Indian diplomatic missions in the respective countries, the roadshow was exclusively partnered by Air India and powered by Travel Turtle. Strategically scheduled following ITB Berlin, the showcase aimed to build on the momentum generated at one of the world’s leading travel trade fairs.

The tri-city initiative created a focused B2B platform, enabling Indian tourism stakeholders to engage directly with leading European travel agents and tour operators. The roadshow facilitated meaningful exchanges around evolving traveller preferences, with particular emphasis on experiential travel, cultural immersion, luxury tourism, and wellness offerings—segments that continue to resonate strongly with European audiences. A key highlight of the showcase was the promotion of India’s diverse tourism portfolio, spanning heritage circuits, boutique hospitality, and luxury rail journeys such as the iconic Maharajas’ Express, represented by Ebix Travels. The offering generated strong interest among European travel professionals seeking to curate premium and experiential itineraries for their clients.

Speaking on the success of the initiative, Ravi Gosain, President, IATO, said, “Europe continues to be an important source market for India, and initiatives like the Namaste India Showcase allow us to build meaningful relationships with travel professionals who actively promote India as a destination. Through this tri-city engagement, we were able to showcase the depth and diversity of India’s tourism experiences while strengthening collaborations with key travel partners across these markets. The positive response from the travel trade further reinforces the growing interest in India among European travellers.”

Sanjay Razdan, Vice President, IATO, extended his appreciation to all participating members and stakeholders for their contribution to the success of the roadshow.

The roadshow also saw active participation from Indian diplomatic missions, underlining a collaborative approach to positioning India as a preferred global destination. Notable dignitaries included Shuchita Kishore and Kumar Tuhin, whose presence further strengthened the engagements in their respective cities. The enthusiastic response from European travel professionals reflected a growing appetite for deeper engagement with India’s tourism offerings, with many expressing interest in developing new, customised itineraries tailored to their markets.

The successful completion of the Namaste India Showcase marks a significant step in IATO’s continued efforts to expand India’s tourism footprint globally. Through such initiatives, IATO reaffirms its commitment to fostering strong international partnerships and positioning India as a destination known for its unparalleled cultural richness, immersive experiences, and world-class hospitality.
