Air India and Air India Express Showcase Upgraded Cabin Products and Enhanced Onboard Experiences

Air India and Air India Express have unveiled their upgraded cabin products and refreshed onboard experiences, offering travel partners and customers a closer look at the group’s ongoing transformation journey.

The Air India showcase highlights the signature elements of its new passenger experience, featuring bespoke Business Class and Premium Economy seats installed on its Airbus A320neo and Airbus A350 aircraft, respectively. These upgraded cabins are designed to deliver enhanced comfort, improved ergonomics, and a consistent, world-class in-flight experience. The airline is also presenting advancements across its fleet, including refined cabin aesthetics, contemporary finishes, and thoughtfully curated onboard amenities that reflect its evolving global positioning. Additionally, a Virtual Reality (VR) experience provides an immersive preview of the Airbus A350, allowing audiences to explore the aircraft’s interiors.

Air India Express, marking a significant phase in its growth trajectory, is spotlighting its expanding network, which now spans 45 domestic and 17 international destinations across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Gulf region. The airline is also showcasing its modern fleet, including the recently inducted Boeing 737-8 line-fit aircraft, which feature upgraded cabin interiors designed to enhance passenger comfort. Complementing the onboard experience is its ‘Gourmair’ hot meal service, presented through engaging and interactive formats.

The introduction of new cabins across the Airbus A320neo and Airbus A350 fleets underscores Air India’s commitment to delivering a seamless and elevated experience across both domestic and international routes.

Looking ahead, Air India is set to receive six additional line-fit aircraft in 2026, including a mix of Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The airline recently took delivery of its first line-fit Boeing 787-9, which is expected to become the new standard across its Boeing 787 fleet. In parallel, Air India has initiated a comprehensive retrofit programme for its legacy Boeing 787-8 aircraft. This initiative will see 26 aircraft upgraded with new cabin interiors tailored to the airline’s design philosophy, along with a complete repainting in its vibrant new livery.

Together, the initiatives by Air India and Air India Express reflect a unified strategy to enhance product excellence, strengthen operational reliability, and deepen engagement across domestic and international markets, reinforcing the group’s role in shaping the future of aviation in India.
