The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) conducted its much-anticipated roadshow across four major Indian cities, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai, held from Nov 17 to 20. The roadshow attracted more than 120 travel agents in each city, underlining the continued importance of the Indian market as one of Germany’s key source markets for outbound tourism.
The four-city event brought together a strong mix of industry partners and tourism professionals, including Lufthansa Group, Rail Europe, Visit Berlin, and Value Retail, who collectively showcased Germany’s diverse and appealing travel offerings to Indian agents. Together, the partners highlighted the wide array of experiences Germany offers, from city life and cultural heritage to luxury shopping and world-class air and rail travel, showcasing why Germany continues to be a leading destination for Indian travellers.
India remains a critical market for Germany, with 650, 000 overnight stays recorded by Indian visitors until Sep 2025 alone. Germany consistently ranks among the top three European destinations for Indian tourists. Moreover, Indian travellers tend to stay longer in Germany, with the average trip length rising to 9.6 days, reflecting the growing desire for deeper, more immersive travel experiences.
