Discovering the Unexplored: Kazin DMC’s Mission to Inspire India’s Next Holiday

Kazin DMC, established in 2015, has emerged as a leading destination management company specialising in the CIS region, with a strong focus on bringing new and culturally rich destinations to the Indian outbound market. Known for its curated travel experiences, destination expertise, and strong on-the-ground partnerships, the company has been instrumental in introducing Indian travellers to emerging hotspots across Central Asia.

In this exclusive interview, Voyager’s World speaks with Mr. Rohit Shorey, Founder & CEO of Kazin DMC, who hosted a high-tea event in Bengaluru on November 8 to present the company’s destinations and unique offerings.

What inspired your decision to specialise in CIS destinations?
My interest in the region began with a visit to Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was my first exposure to the destination, and I travelled as part of an organised familiarisation trip. The experience left a lasting impression on me, and I immediately recognised its potential for Indian travellers. That trip served as the catalyst for building our expertise in the CIS market.

What was the primary purpose of the Bengaluru event, and are there plans to host similar engagements in other cities?
The Bengaluru event was organised to introduce Uzbekistan—the latest addition to our portfolio—to our B2B partners in Karnataka. We believe the southern market will play an important role in driving demand for this destination, making Bengaluru a strategic choice. We held a similar event in Mumbai the previous day, and we plan to continue this series in other major Indian cities in the coming weeks.

In your view, what makes CIS destinations attractive to Indian travellers?
The appeal is multifaceted. Proximity is a major advantage, as these destinations are relatively short-haul. Visa processes are also significantly easier, with some countries offering visa-free access for Indian citizens. Travellers find the blend of European-style aesthetics, vibrant nightlife, diverse cuisine, scenic landscapes, mountains, and favourable weather particularly compelling. These attributes align well with the preferences of Indian travellers seeking new and enriching experiences.

What key objectives has Kazin DMC set for the coming year?
Our priority is to deepen our engagement with the Indian market and enhance awareness of the CIS region among travel agents and industry stakeholders. We expect that these destinations will witness substantial growth in Indian outbound tourism over the next five to ten years. As traditional destinations have reached a saturation point, travellers are actively seeking fresh alternatives, and the CIS region offers precisely that. We aim to build awareness, expand the market, and strengthen partnerships to support this anticipated growth.
