Air India Expands UK Connectivity This Winter with Fourth Daily Flight Between Delhi and London (Heathrow)

Air India announced a significant expansion of its services to the United Kingdom as part of its Northern Winter 2025 schedule, adding a fourth daily flight between Delhi and London (Heathrow), effective 26 October 2025. The additional frequency increases Air India’s flights from 24 times weekly to 28 times weekly this winter, adding 1,196 seats each way per week between Delhi and London (Heathrow). All flights on this high-demand route will be operated by Air India’s new Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Air India remains the largest carrier between India and the UK, operating 61 flights weekly and deploying 18,066 seats per week (in one direction), which translates to nearly 1.7 million seats annually on routes between the two countries. The airline connects five Indian cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Amritsar — to three UK destinations: London (Heathrow), London (Gatwick), and Birmingham.

With the introduction of the additional daily frequency, Air India will operate two daily flights on the route using its Airbus A350-900 aircraft and two daily flights using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This ensures the consistent availability of Air India’s best widebody cabin products on the Delhi-London route, with both aircraft types offering three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.

Air India’s upgraded onboard and ground services deliver a world-class travel experience for all guests. This commitment is reflected in the airline’s consistently high Net Promoter Score (NPS), which has hovered around 47 points monthly. The Business Class and Premium Economy cabins on Air India’s flagship A350-900 aircraft deployed on the Delhi-London (Heathrow) route achieve even higher NPS scores, ranging between 50 and 60 points each month.

Guests in First Class and Business Class, as well as eligible Maharaja Club members, enjoy complimentary access to world-class lounges globally. At London (Heathrow), they can choose from the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, Lufthansa Business Lounge, Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge, or United Club Lounge for a premium pre-flight experience.

Onboard, passengers benefit from complimentary WiFi internet connectivity and an enhanced inflight entertainment (IFE) system featuring over 3,000 hours of content, including the largest library of Indian entertainment available in the skies. Hot meals across all cabins feature a curated selection of Indian and international cuisine paired with complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Business Class and Premium Economy guests receive luxury amenity kits, plush bedding, and elegantly designed serviceware, underscoring Air India’s renewed focus on comfort and refinement.

The expanded winter operations also include the optimisation and restoration of services on other UK routes that were temporarily adjusted due to operational considerations. The Mumbai–London (Heathrow) route continues to operate double daily (14 times weekly). The Bengaluru–London (Heathrow) service, previously curtailed, will be reinstated to a full seven times weekly operation. Services on the Ahmedabad–London (Gatwick) route, which were temporarily relocated to London (Heathrow) in July 2025, will return to Gatwick and operate three times weekly. The Amritsar–London (Gatwick) and Delhi–Birmingham routes are both restored to three times weekly operations, while the Amritsar–Birmingham service will continue with three weekly flights.

With these enhancements, Air India continues to strengthen its leadership position in the India–UK market while offering travellers greater choice, flexibility, and a premium flying experience.
