Global hospitality technology company OYO has announced a partnership with online travel agent platform Yatra to strengthen its presence in the business travel segment, particularly in key business centres such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and major industrial hubs and transit corridors.
As part of this alliance, more than 500 of OYO’s serviced hotels have already been onboarded for the first time on Yatra’s platform. It includes hotels under mid-premium and premium brands such as SUNDAY, Palette, Clubhouse, Townhouse, Townhouse Oak, and Collection O for business travellers across India. OYO is planning to add 1000 more company-serviced hotels for booking on Yatra’s platform by September this year. This will strengthen Yatra’s inventory, especially in emerging metros where the demand for quality accommodation is surging due to increased business travel.
India’s business travel spending reached $38.2 billion in 2024, reflecting robust growth and positioning the country as the 8th largest business travel market globally and 4th in the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership is strategically designed to provide quality stay options to the growing number of business travellers in India, particularly in emerging metros where demand for business travel is surging due to regional office expansions, economic activity, and improved infrastructure.
Yatra’s business clients will benefit from OYO’s flexible cancellation and rescheduling policies. Additionally, OYO provides tailored corporate solutions, including centralised billing, expense tracking, GST-compliant invoicing, and dedicated account managers to support bulk travel requirements. OYO’s company-serviced hotels offer standardised amenities such as clean linen, high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and hygienic washrooms, ensuring a comfortable and reliable stay. Yatra is recognised as India’s leading corporate travel services provider with more than 800 large corporate clients, including several Fortune 500 companies and 10,000+ registered small and medium-scale enterprises. Corporate and B2B travel accounts for 65% of Yatra’s gross bookings, making it a preferred platform for corporate clients looking for convenient stay options.
Earlier this year, OYO announced the launch of Oravel Travel Solutions—a dedicated B2B corporate travel vertical to cater to the travel and accommodation needs of corporate clients, such as smooth check-ins, meal options, conference facilities, and event management support, as well as tailor-made holiday packages. OYO’s partnership with Yatra will further boost its business travel portfolio by leveraging Yatra’s strong corporate client base and strengthening weekday occupancy in key cities by targeting business travel, which is typically more consistent and higher yielding than leisure travel.
Commenting on the development, Varun Jain, Chief Operating Officer, OYO, said, “While direct demand continues to be our mainstay, contributing nearly 80% of our total business, we are now looking to tap into a niche segment of business travellers who are exploring emerging business hubs. This partnership also opens up opportunities to cater to companies embracing blended travel programs, combining business and leisure, and adopting flexible mobility plans to enhance both cost efficiency and employee productivity.”
According to the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the business travel sector is on track for a full recovery to pre-2019 spending levels by 2025, driven by strong economic momentum, rising corporate earnings, and increasing demand for in-person business meetings. Therefore, the demand for quality stay options will continue to grow.
