Kerala Tourism Sets Target to Complete 100 Projects in 2025

A high-level review meeting chaired by Tourism Minister Shri P. A. Mohamed Riyas has resolved to complete approximately 100 tourism-related projects within this year as part of the Department of Tourism’s ongoing initiatives. The meeting, attended by senior officials of Kerala Tourism, reviewed the progress of current projects and examined those in the pipeline. Minister Riyas directed the officials to establish precise project completion timelines and ensure systematic, phase-wise monitoring. He also emphasised assigning specific officers to oversee and guarantee the timely execution of each project.

In a move to enhance the state’s tourism calendar, the meeting decided to launch an advanced schedule for flagship events such as the Onam celebrations, Champions Boat League, New Year lighting, and Beypore Fest. The minister also stressed the need to begin early preparations for these major events.

“To monitor centrally approved projects, we will introduce a dedicated system for evaluating progress in line with the state government’s recommendations. Additionally, new projects proposed during the Tourism Investors Meet are now cleared for implementation,” Mohamed Riyas stated.

Another major decision from the meeting was the approval of an action plan to develop Women Empowerment (WE) Parks across Kerala, utilising available spaces beneath overbridges. The construction of these parks will be handled by Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Ltd. (KTIL).

The meeting was attended by Kerala Tourism Secretary Shri Biju K, Tourism Director Smt Sikha Surendran, and other top officials.
