The Canberra Balloon Spectacular, Australia’s longest-running and one of the most anticipated hot air ballooning festivals is set to transform the skyline of the country’s capital. From 15-23 March 2025, the city will switch into a stunning canvas of colour, creating an experience that will capture the imagination of travellers.
This year marks the Canberra Balloon Spectacular’s debut as a standalone festival, promising travellers an unforgettable adventure in the skies. Two stunning special-shaped balloons, Simba the Lion and Axel the Tiger will feature in the Canberra Balloon Spectacular. Over nine days, the skies will come alive at dawn as hot air balloons take off from the lawns on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin. As the balloons inflate and soar above the city, their ascent will cast a magical glow over Canberra’s scenic landscape.
