5 destinations to cruise to in 2019

The demand for cruises has been steadily increasing over recent years with nearly 24.7 million people embarking on an ocean cruise annually.  Where most people were once satisfied with traveling the world by car, plane, or train, more are now seeking to explore all corners of the globe aboard a luxury cruise ship. One of the biggest and hardest decisions to make when planning a cruise is without a doubt where to go. Thankfully our wonderful world is filled with countless dream-destinations, such as the following, that are deserving of a spot on the list of places to visit onboard a cruise ship in 2019.

Gorgeous Galapagos

If you are looking for a magnificent yet remote cruise destination, the Galapagos Islands should definitely be at the top of your bucket list. The beautiful archipelago, which is situated nearly 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, is home to gorgeous landscapes and an impressive variety of wildlife including sea lions, giant tortoises, penguins, blue-footed boobies, and iguanas. In May, this year, Celebrity Cruises is launching a brand-new expedition ship, the Celebrity Flora, that has been specifically designed for the Galapagos. Carrying no more than 100 guests, the Flora will boast everything from anchorless technology that won’t harm the sensitive sea floor, to an open-air platform for some of the best stargazing you will ever experience.

Alluring Alaska

A cruise to Alaska will afford you the opportunity to discover an untouched part of the USA that boasts some of the most spectacular natural scenery in the world. Apart from enjoying unobstructed views of sprawling rainforests, towering glaciers, and the exquisite Northern Lights, you can also choose to engage in a number of activities including hiking, paddle-boarding, and snorkeling. As a whole, Alaska is considered to be a child-friendly destination with the majority of cruise ships making safe, enjoyable provisions for both young and old. Whether you choose to cruise aboard the Queen Elizabeth, Disney Wonder, Norweigan Bliss, or any of the other luxury cruise ships that traverse our oceans, you are bound to make some life-long memories among the sites and sounds of the USA northernmost state.

Magical Mexican Riviera

There are countless reasons why the Mexican Riviera should be on your list of places to visit in 2019. From cavorting on some of the most pristine beaches in the world to snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean.  Major cruise lines including Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Silversea all offer cruises to the Riviera, stopping at ports like Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. An increasing number of mega-ships will be visiting the region this year, affording passengers a completely riveting historical and cultural experience.

Idyllic Iceland

Over recent years, Iceland has skyrocketed in popularity as a cruise destination, and with very good reason. Known to be home to the friendliest locals in the world, Iceland is also known for its incredible natural beauty that includes geothermal pools, black sand beaches, lava fields, and stunning glaciers. Apart from spectacular sightings of the Northern Lights (from August to April), visitors to the land of fire and ice will also be privy to close encounters with amazing wildlife such as dolphins, humpback whales, penguins, and puffins.  Depending on which cruise line you book with, your cruise to Iceland may also include stopovers at destinations like Norway and Amsterdam.

Heavenly Hawaii

If you are planning to visit Hawaii this year, there is no better way to do it than by cruise. Not only will you be presented with impressive views of the sheer natural splendor of the islands, but you will also be able to partake in thrilling activities that range from snorkeling and ziplining to surfing and horseback tours. There is a multitude of world-renowned cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Holland America Line that offer superb cruise packages to Hawaii, ranging from anywhere between 3 days to a wondrous 2 weeks.

There are very few getaways that can compete with a cruise aboard a luxury ship. Regardless of where you go, and how long you go for, you will undoubtedly have an amazing time visiting some of the most beautiful destinations in the world.
