The French have joyfully made their way back to the “small pleasures in life”- such as enjoying their coffee and croissants at outdoor cafés. After an announcement by the Government, patrons can finally visit their cherished hang-out spots as France’s outdoor terraces, restaurants, bars and cultural venues, have reopened for the first time in six months. 16th July will mark the reopening of Paris’ iconic landmark – the Eiffel Tower. Currently, the entry restrictions have also been relaxed for travel within France.
Disneyland Paris, a must-visit for kids and adults alike, will reopen on 17th June while adhering to enhanced health safety measures. Another popular attraction- The Futuroscope, a theme park near Nantes, with its 3D and 4D cinemas and ultra-modern buildings, will also receive enthusiastic visitors on 9thJune with safety measures in place. In the heart of Paris, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, the luxury department store, is all set to revive the joy of browsing and retail therapy to its visitors, with several protocols to assure a smooth shopping experience. Printemps in Paris, which has 19 luxury department stores, has also reopened to the public. La Vallée Village, an open-air shopper’s paradise with 120 designer brands near Paris, has also reopened with all shopping protocols in place. |

While going to cafés spells freedom for some, for others it is the possibility to revisit their favourite monuments. The Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel, the Arc de Triomphe, Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, just some of the emblematic sites managed by The National Monuments Centre (Centre des Monuments Nationaux), will gradually reopen to the public while also offering guided virtual visits. |
