HRAWI Signs MoU with IHA & LKHRA To Strengthen Industry Collaboration and Representation

The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI has entered into a strategic MoU with the Indore Hoteliers Association (IHA) and the Lonavala Khandala Hotel and Restaurant Association (LKHRA) to promote mutual growth, enhance industry representation and strengthen collaboration between the associations. Under this partnership, HRAWI will serve as the Principal Partner, while IHA and the LKHRA will act as its Regional Partners, creating a structured framework to address concerns faced by the hospitality sector. The MoU outlines a shared vision to expand membership, address industry challenges collectively and ensure effective representation both at the local and regional levels.

The collaboration aims to encourage establishments to join and actively support local trade bodies to address region-specific challenges, facilitate greater participation at the regional level on wider industry issues and strengthen representation at the national level through its apex hospitality association, the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI).

Jimmy Shaw, President, HRAWI, said, “This MoU marks a pivotal moment in our collective journey to build a stronger, more unified hospitality sector. By joining forces with the IHA and LKHRA, we are not merely expanding our membership base; we are creating a powerful platform for shared advocacy, resource pooling and collaborative problem solving. A more unified industry voice will be critical in driving sustainable growth and policy support. Together, we can ensure that the voice of the hospitality industry in Western India is heard louder and clearer than ever before, from the grassroots to the national level.”

The MoU is expected to deliver multiple benefits to all three associations and their members, including growth in the membership base. It will allow for a stronger collective voice to address policy, regulatory and operational challenges as well as create greater industry cohesion through the inclusion of new businesses not currently affiliated with the associations.

Sumit Suri, President, IHA, added, “The MoU represents a significant milestone for the hospitality community in Indore and the broader region. Partnering with HRAWI provides our members with access to a wider platform and stronger representation at the regional level. It will not only help us grow our membership base but will also enable us to address local challenges more effectively while contributing to broader industry initiatives. We look forward to a collaborative and mutually beneficial association.”

Madhav Todi, representing LKHRA, concluded, “With several hotels, resorts and restaurants catering to weekend, leisure and MICE travellers, Lonavala-Khandala has evolved into a key hospitality micro-market within Maharashtra, offering a mix of luxury, mid-scale and boutique accommodation options. With increasing tourist inflow and evolving infrastructure, there is a growing need for stronger industry alignment and representation. Our collaboration with HRAWI will empower local businesses, enhance engagement on policy matters and create new opportunities for growth and development.”
